Hawkins-Poe Market Outlook

In March 2024, the real estate market in certain parts of Washington covered by the Northwest Multiple
Listing Service (NWMLS) went through some noticeable trends. Despite facing challenges like
uncertain economic conditions, the market kept evolving.

The number of homes listed for sale increased by about 1.16% compared to the previous year. This
suggests that there were still a decent number of options available for potential buyers. However, even
though the number of homes listed increased, there was a decrease in the overall number of homes
sold. About 11% fewer homes were sold compared to the previous year. This could be due to various
factors like seasonal changes.

Despite the decrease in the number of home sales, home prices continued to climb, showing a 7.5%
increase compared to the previous year. This means that home values are appreciating in the region.

Overall, the real estate market in Washington experienced some changes. There were more homes
available for sale, fewer homes were sold, but their prices kept rising. So, it remains a market with
opportunities for both buyers and sellers, but it’s important for everyone involved to stay informed
and adaptable to changing trends.
